Introduction to the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

The Analytic Hierarchy Process is one the most widely used models for capturing the essence of a decision.  It integrates the decision goal, criteria, sub-critieria, attributes, agents, values and alternatives and provides the decision team with a focal point for brainstorming, deliberation, prioritisation and evaluation.  It is ideal for large and far-ranging decisions and for dealing with intangibles such as values, welfare and quality which defy quantitative analysis.
